Fish Camp

Fish Camp at San Jose Family Camp is always a wonderful "opening weekend" for the lucky few campers and their families who get away on the weekend that fishing season opens.




We, the Friends of SJ Family Camp, offer a family Friday Spaghetti feed, camp fire chats, Saturday morning Fish Derby with prizes and certificates, as well as a host of weekend delights.
Some years we are also able to host the State Fish and Game as they stock the river right from the shores of Family Camp itself!

We are proud of our years of teaching, sharing, and laughing together helping families enjoy the outdoors, kids being kids, and everyone getting the most out of precious time together.

Sign Up's start in Mid March each year and close shortly after the Official Summer Season sign up day at Leninger Center each April.

2 tent nights (electrical optional), Friday night Friends Feed, Saturday meals and Sunday brunch are available in our weekend of fishing fun.

The weather varies each season, so we always encourage folks to bring both winter and spring clothing for those nippy nights and chiseled frost mornings. Day tripping to Yosemite is fun when the thrill of trout wears off, as well as spring visits to Cherry Lake.
